Melissa Desgagnes Stopped By Wind on April 15 Departure

Just as her fleetmate, Amelia Desgagnes, did 4 days ago, the Melissa Desgagnes ran into problems with wind (much stronger than 4 days ago) when the time came to depart. They dropped the lines from the craneship, William H. Donner, around 11:30 a.m. and began turning the ship. They got the bow maybe 75-ft. from the Donner and got stopped dead. They then swung back toward the Donner and tied up. Unlike the Amelia Desgagnes 4 days ago, they called for a tug. The tug, Jacquelyn Nicole, arrived from Sturgeon Bay shortly after 2 p.m. and had the ship turned around about 10 minutes after they started the actual job. The tug went between the bows of the William H. Donner and Melissa Desgagnes to push the ship around. At other times, I have seen a tug take a line from the bow of the ship and tow it around; this way, no lines were involved and the ship was out of in the bay of Green Bay 20 minutes after the tug first entered the harbor! Good job everyone!!
