including "Engineer's Day" (Friday June 27). There are a lot of photos here, as I decided to post photos from 10 different vantage points along the St. Mary's River as I chased some of the ships through the system.

Davis Lock - The lock is still on active duty, but seldom used. It is in this area where the proposed new "Poe-sized" lock will be built (if the funding is ever approved by the U.S. Government)

Lock History Placard #1 - Placards were placed in the visitor viewing area between the MacArthur Lock and Poe Lock under the huge tent erected for Engineer's Day. Each placard showed some of the history of the Soo Locks and buildings. The first placard shows the first lock ever built at the Soo, the State Lock.
