Vancouverborg - Arrived in the bay of Green Bay off Menominee on May 31 with a load of wood pulp for KK Integrated Logistics; however, with the low water levels, it was not able to enter the Menominee River and anchored about a mile offshore. It would appear that, unless the river raises overnight, they will need to bring a barge out to the ship and offload part of its cargo ("lighter") out in the bay. This was last done in Dec. 2004 when the Varnebank needed to be "lightered" out in the bay before entering port.
Vancouverborg - After laying at anchor in the bay last night, they lightered it early today (June 1) but had to wait until early afternoon to make it into the river and to its dock because of heavy fog
Vancouverborg - Secure at the KK Integrated Logistics East Dock and ready to begin unloading
Vancouverborg - Stern view from down-river
Vancouverborg - Each shoreside crane grabs a bale of pulp from the holds of the ship
Vancouverborg - When the ship departed on June 2 they needed a tug to assist in turning it around in the Menominee River turning basin. The ship is equipped with a bow thruster, which must have been out of commission or they wouldn't have needed the tug.

Voorneborg - Arrived KK Integrated Logistics with a load of wood pulp on July 20
Voorneborg - Stern view unloading early that evening
Voorneborg - Close-up bow view as the crane reaches into the hold for a bale of pulp

Dongeborg - On their way to Menominee on Nov. 20, the ship ran aground, or became otherwise disabled, off Chambers Island in the bay of Green Bay (photo Nov. 21)
Dongeborg - Another view from another vantage point on Nov. 21 (the ship has a load of wood pulp)
Dongeborg - Aground, or disabled, since Tuesday near Chambers Island in the bay of Green Bay on Nov. 22
Dongeborg - A wide view of the Dongeborg on Nov. 23, which is turned around since yesterday but still in the same area
Dongeborg - Same view zoomed in at 18X (Optical Zoom) - Not sure what the status of the ship is at this time

Dongeborg - Zoomed in with partial Digital Zoom
Dongeborg - Close-up at full 91X (Optical plus Digital) zoom ... HANDHELD!!
Dongeborg (Nov. 23) - New information says that the ship may be having mechanical problems, and not grounded. I will try to find out. This makes more sense since the ship is turned around today, but still in the same area as the past few days. Also, there has been no sign of tugs near the ship; if it was grounded, tugs should have been present by now.
Dongeborg - The tug Jimmy L heads out to the ship to take off the Great Lakes Pilot who has been aboard for a while

Dongeborg - Still sitting out by Chambers Island on Nov. 27.
Dongeborg - Finally on the move on Nov. 29 - moved up to anchorage about 1-2 miles off Menominee
Dongeborg - Another view - the water level is too low for the ship to enter port, so a barge will need to be brought out to the ship so that enough wood pulp can be removed to raise the ship enough to make port
Dongeborg - KK Integrated Logistics' ex-railroad carfloat, Manitowoc, was towed out to the ship's position early Friday morning (Nov. 30)
Dongeborg - The Selvick tugs, Jimmy L and William C. Selvick, are on hand as a bale of wood pulp is lifted from the holds of the ship

Dongeborg - The bale is lowered to the barge. The ship should be in port later today after enough cargo is removed to allow the ship to enter the river in its low-water state.
Dongeborg - The tugs and barge head for port, the ship will follow an hour later
Dongeborg - The Jimmy L heads back out to assist the ship into port in a stiff wind
Dongeborg - Heads toward Menominee North Pier Lighthouse, obviously glad to finally be headed into port and dry land
Dongeborg - Past the lighthouse after over 10 days at anchor in the bay of Green Bay

Dongeborg - Wide view inside the piers ... YES, that is ice in the river!
